My suggestions * Filtering by people. None of the Alert applications on BB do it. I want to be ale to easily filter communications by people without having to edit 5-10 rules per person. Step 1) Let us build complex filters. We chose a contact, SA imports all the data in SA under one rule that includes email addresses, phone numbers, pin, IMs, etc. Step 2) You include a sync engine that we can launch manually (automatic can come later) that would check if the info SA has about somebody is current. * The other crucial feature that is missing is the ability to backup/restore the settings. It is just ridiculous to have to set dozens of settings for each bellshare application every single time we install a new OS. * Maybe have 2 SA versions. One that works only with BB and that includes all the bells and whistles and one that just does simple alerting.[/list] That's it for now

Backup and restore is something we have been discussing for a while now for all of the applications and not just SA. We know it's needed and hopefully in a later update it might be implemented but there is no ETA on that.

I would like to see a scheduling ability the alert.
Example: I want the alert to be active between 9am and 5pm only.

While berrybuzz 3.0 has a lot of features, it more determines the colors of the led. I enjoy the functionality that smart alerts provides since I get to modify the sound alerts that are coming into the blackberry (berrybuzz does not do this, I think).
This is the reason I was hoping that you would update the program to include a backup feature like you did with your other programs. This way, when I upgrade the os, I won't have to annoyingly remake all 20 of the alerts (modified for multiple profiles mind you), all over again.
Can I please implore you to make this one modification to the program if nothing else? I like that most of your programs are in sync with each other, which is what makes me keep your apps. I enjoy this functionality. I'd obviously rather keep your program, than spend money on another program that won't function as well with it's complementary apps.

The ability to backup and restore the alert settings is all that is missing from this wonderful app...

I'm sure this has been mentioned numerous times, but the next version should definitely have the ability to backup settings to media card.

So there is a great list of suggestions for the next SmartAlerts. Is there going to be a next SmartAlerts?
Buzz, Weather, Popup have all be updated and more than once. You've developed a new product or two and still this has no updates.

Jeffrey My point exactly!!!! The reason I even thought of mentioning this was the fact that I have received what seemed like the 3rd or 4th update to berry buzz and yet I've never (I don't think) received an updated to smart alerts. I've upgraded my os at least 3 times since I've had my blackberry bold 9700. Twice just to shake some sort of bug in the blackberry os. Every time I've had the tedious task of reimplementing those alerts. I just found it odd that the other apps have gotten so much attention and there's been no update for smart alerts. It seems like the developers have forgotten all about this app.

Don't stop at allowing the the minus (-) sign to mean "not" in a search expression - why not include the full boolean logic expressions? Including the (, ), -, +, or, xor, etc. This would increase the power selctive alerts in SmartAlerts significantly.
