Downloading now. Will participate in this Public Beta.

I did have a problem with GPS lock this morning. But, that is the first problem I have had with GPS since installing .35 at the end of Beta testing.

Thanks for the update - downloading now...

ETA - installed 1.5.41 and went to my "Current Location" and asked for an update. Noteworthy is it did ask me if I would allow the app access to GPS so you all may want to do a manual update the first time so you can see and allow that access if you have a location that uses GPS.

In this case it wasn't able to get a GPS lock in time so it dropped back to a Cell Location. I tried another app and got a GPS lock so I asked for another update on my Current Location and this time it got GPS and now shows as a GPS location. I'm encouraged that it handled it this way and didn't thrash trying to get a GPS location the first time though this isn't quite the situation that I've experienced as a problem - but it's close. I'll try to test that precise situation later today if I can create it.

pfluger this looks awfully good to me.

The precise situation that would hang on my device was where my Current Location is configured for GPS with Cell fallback. The location would update with a GPS lock so it would be listed as a GPS location - but the next time it would attempt to update I would be inside so GPS would fail and at the same time I didn't have cell service either - Berryweather would hang retrying GPS instead of just failing.

So I simulated this by going outside and updating so I had a GPS Location, then coming inside, turning off my radio (but leaving WiFi on so I actually had a data connection) and forcing an update. It tried GPS and obviously failed; it tried for a little longer (looking for a cell signal which it didn't have either) and then just stopped and said the update had failed. No thrashing or retrying GPS - just "Update failed".

Then I turned the radio back on and forced another update. It tried GPS first, which again failed (I was still inside) and then it updated to a Cell Location and succeeded.

This is exactly the behavior I would have expected and hoped for.

Thanks for getting on this one - I know the Berrybuzz beta took all the developers' time recently but knew that you'd get back on this issue and indeed you have and come up with what looks like the solution!

I never really had a problem with berryweather refreshing my location on my 8310. I know the 8900 users did so this is more for them I suppose.
Because come nov. I'll also be sporting the sleek 8900 also. Carry on beta testers!! :D

Fixed the update issue for me. Now I just wish the icon and temps were right. :(

So far this looks very good. I was able to test some of the conditions that I experienced this with within my home. I still want to test it as I switch from different Wifi/EDGE signals while outside roaming, because I experienced it with these conditions as well.

Indeed. We both have been posting a lot to let other users know this, and to be patient for the update. And, before you know it... Voila.

This appears to also be a VERY strong build, as I have noticed some overheating while updating. Then again, we ARE beta testing, and I have done multiple updates on both Wifi and EDGE. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks Pfluger. Will keep you poseted.
